Hedges/bushes protruding at least 50% across public walkway

The hedge/bushes need to be cut back behind the barrier to the south of the railway bridge. This walkway is used by school children, joggers, cylcists, general public next to a 40mph carriageway. This has been cut previously (>6months ago) although the ground level was not cleared, making the walkway quite dangerous to use. A large volume of the traffic uses this road and a high number are not within the specified speed limit making this more hazardous than need be.

It would appear work may have been started in relation to this job; but not completed by any stretch of the imagination. The hedge has been trimmed in front of the barrier and the path level debris untouched; in fact the path level debris has been increased with some of the trimmings. The trimming AND path level debris cleared needs to be carried out to include a distance approx 30m south of the bridge. Started for approx 8m at present. In my view this should be added to a maintenance schedule task, possibly at the same time as the nearby verge grass is cut. I look forward to seeing if some can do a complete job in trimming and clearing path level debris.

It has been almost three months since the original comment regarding this and although the same contractor has cut the grass verge, this has still not been addressed. Although, this is far more of a hazard to the public than the height of some grass. With spring now in full swing this is only going to get worse as the bushes grow; hence the reason for them to be cut back behind the crash barrier/path edge.

This problem still exists. Plants continue to grow and therefore this should be part of a programme. As before, it has not been cut for sometime & the footpath can only be used single file safely. All path level debris also needs to be cleared. 'Do a job right & do it once' should be part of the working ethos to ensure public safety.
