Blocked drain and sunken rain gully 29 Lawford Lane, Bilton, RUGBY
Reported in the Flooding or standing water on road category anonymously at 16:11, Fri 19 August 2016
Sent to Warwickshire County Council 15 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 881565.
There is a rain gully running along the front of my property. On 15th June 2016 following heavy rain the gully became blocked with debris, believed to have backed up from a blocked drain in Lawford Lane a few feet away outside no 31. Flood water came into my property because the door is lower than the road, soaking the carpets in the lounge and dinning room. A claim has been lodged via Direct Line, following an excess of £200 paid out, and 2 weeks drying out, new carpet has now been fitted, taking a 6 week period to remedy. The gully channel shows sign of settlement, the drain is blocked and has already been reported by my neighbour at no 31. I would wish contact and an inspection, and any remedial works carried out to avoid a repeat of this instance. I have all relevant photos and paperwork as proof of this incident if needed, and I would be looking to recover my uninsured losses..
