Very awkward road layout
Reported by Amanda Baylis at 12:15, Fri 5 February 2016
Sent to Stratford-on-Avon District Council and Warwickshire County Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 761195.
It is the junction and bend off Kinwarton Road going into Fairwater Crescent. This road is not safe. There have been many prangs and small accidents, they have probably not been reported, because people feel it is a waste of time and effort. I watched a large NHS delivery vehicle today struggle to get out of this road, it is a hairpin bend, the lorry blocked the road as it tried to maneuver around the bends. I suppose it might take a fatality for something to be done about it. This road has become extremely busy since the new surgery started in 2013, it has always been quite busy it is a route to the school, many children walk along this route and there are several retirement homes so elderly and infirm people, who are not so spritely have to cross the road here. Some vehicles that are on the roads these days are extremely wide, especially the four wheel drive types, I would hate to bump into one of these in this area. Some people are in a rush to make doctors appointments, and are not so careful when using this road, cutting corners and veering across the road around the bends in their haste. I know money is tight, but life is expensive, and people have the right to safety.

My Stepmother-in-Law lives at Whitehall Farm and the road layout has made it all but impossible for her to get in and out of her property, the problem has now been exacerbated by the building of a new estate on what was Alcester Hospital property. She has complained copiously to the council, but nothing is done, and no-one is interested. She can't do anything about it, and no-body will take responsibility for the awful access that has been created. She has to put up with other drivers shaking their fist at her, which is very unfair, as she was living at the farm long before there was a problem.
