Road markings Warwick New Road Traffic Lights
Reported in the Road markings category anonymously at 14:04, Tue 26 January 2016
Sent to Warwickshire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 753753.
It was good to see the KEEP CLEAR markings renewed today. However the white lines in the centre of the road on approaching the traffic lights from Warwick New Road are worn out. This presents a danger for cars coming from Emscote Road as drivers in Warwick New Road straddle the worn our white lines and often approach cars head on - this is especially true when turning right into Mill House Terrace. In addition there used to be a right turn arrow before the lights for traffic turning into the Rugby Road. Now that has gone, cars drive at excessive speed down the outside lane of Warwick New Road and across the centre line in order to jump the queue to get into Emscote Road. This queue jumping causes daily aggression from drivers who are forced to stop by overtaking cars. Please can you get all the white lines repainted at this busy and dangerous junction including the reinstatement of the RIGHT TURN ARROW that was in Warwick New Road

No contact from Warwick District - I have to ask if they actually read these complaint problems. There have been numerous accidents at this junction and traffic lights since we moved here but the council do not seem to want to improve safety.

What is the point of reporting things like this if as they say "it will not be sent to the council". Since reporting this in January there have been at least 4 more traffic collisions e4ven though they have painted the centre lines. We need a complete redesign of the junction as it is NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE. TO ANYONE READING THIS, IT IS MY OPINION THAT I HAVE BEEN WASTING MY TIME REPORTING THE PROBLEM.
