Missing Speed limit sign
Reported in the Road signs category anonymously at 20:09, Sun 27 December 2015
Sent to Warwickshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 734446.
There is no speed limit sign when entering Fenny Compton from Farnborough. It should be a 20mph limit as advised on the Avon Dassett Road and Northend Roads. There is a need for this sign given the speed of traffic, often horse boxes, that travels into the village down this route, presenting a danger to village inhabitants along The Slade - and potentially beyond as the road further up the hill is a 50/60mph limit and many seem to be taking this higher speed into the village along this route.

The council have been in touch to advise that a road sign will be installed in this location but have not been told exactly when.

I have chased the council again who now say that a sign is due mid March and that the speed limits in the village are currently unenforceable by the police. I have requested that this is reviewed as a matter of urgency but no response. Is it just me who feels that this is a poor response?

The council promised me a completion date of mid March, with admission that currently the speed limit in the village is unenforcable and has technically been this way for years, despite it having been raised previously. Let's hope this finally gets resolved.
