Pavement from railway bridge towards Gaydon
Reported via mobile anonymously at 16:00, Tue 27 October 2020
Sent to Stratford-on-Avon District Council and Warwickshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2359742.
The tarmac is dangerously uneven and makes walking on it very difficult. It seems to be split. There is no pavement in the opposite side of the road so walking there isn’t an option. Because of the verge overgrowth the pathway is really narrow and the overhanging branches mean that at points you have to walk into the road-this is just after a bridge so cars can’t see you until they’re over the bow and the same for safely seeing the cars coming. On Monday 26/10 I went over on my ankle whilst walking my dog causing considerable pain and swelling. I have reported this issue previously-albeit to the local counsellor. There is no way anyone with a buggy could safely use that part of the path.

Reported this stretch of pavement coming up for a month ago. Nothing has been done. It is going to be ‘reviewed accordingly’. It’s ridiculously dangerous and as about the only designated pavement in the area the fact it is in such an appalling state is inexcusable.

Following my last ‘not fixed’ I received an email saying the the overhanging hedgerow was due to be cut back in the following weeks (still not done). The path is getting worse, it’s a nightmare especially as the days are so short and the hours of daylight are limited, there’s a new estate being built at the moment so footfall will only increase on that path, it can only be a matter of time until something awful happens.

Although the overhanging hedgerow has now been cut back and this has opened up the amount of path available to walk on, the path itself it’s still unchanged in the fact that it is horribly uneven and very difficult to walk on.
I’ve attempted to walk it a couple of times due to the opposite direction being subject to some not insignificant roadworks taking place but it’s a hazard and I do end up walking in the road when it’s safe to.

Still not fixed, still dangerous. Nothing about this pavement has changed.

Photos of the pavement taken today. I’ve not heard a word from anyone since November and the initial message that ‘it’s to be reviewed’. It’s just so bad, it’s not like there’s a small crack in the pavement-there’s probably parts of it that are a good couple of inches difference in height. It’s dangerous.
