It seems that ANYTIME the road contractors are active there is a problem to coordinate the traffic lights and the works. This weeks TEMP light popped up on cubbington road outside the doctor surgery on the afternoon of Tue 13th Oct. There were no works ongoing. I came home this evening at 6pm to find the same traffic lights in place but no evidence of works. Tonight the traffic lights were not working, clearly the battery was not sufficient to do the job, and wasn't maintained. This was a clear hazard as cars then couldn't organise navigating the single open carriage and impatient drivers were using the service lane dangerously. As a safety measure I have removed all bollards from the road and left the traffic lights at the side surrounded by bollards. This is an ongoing problem and I now will raise the concern the councillors. The same issue occured when temp lights when up outside the pharmacy recently, and also the lights on the road going out of cubbington to offchurch. this is a structural and dangerous issue that needs the attention of WDC directors to ensure contractors coordinate their work, do their job properly. It also requires more direct supervision by the traffic team at WDC so they know and see the inconvenience and extra pollution caused by the casual attitude of all involved. this is wreckless and an accident will happen one day.
