Overgrown tree, in need of major pruning, causing connectivity issues for multiple houses
Reported in the Hedges / Trees on road or verge category anonymously at 22:30, Wed 16 September 2020
Sent to Warwickshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2298500.
Tree located on pavement outside 35a High Street, Ryton On Dunsmore. As the tree has matured/ grown over the years it has caused numerous connectivity issues with our Sky dish (40 High Street). Our dish has been moved by Sky engineers but last week when we had them out again! We were informed that there is now nothing more they can do and nowhere on our property to reposition a dish for adequate signal. The Sky engineer has therefore recommended that our only course of action for any improvement is to contact you. We also have concerns with it growing through the overhead cables as can be seen in the photos. It has also been noticed that the lower hanging branches are encroaching onto the oncoming traffic (as it is positioned where many of the school buses pick-up/ drop-off). This tree is generally overlooked for maintenance as all the others along the High Street are smaller species, whereas this particular tree is a larger Silver Birch. When speaking to elderly neighbours we have discovered that they too are having similar connectivity issues (Sky & Wifi), along with the tree roots beginning to damage pavement outside their house and onto their property.

We as residents of High Street are also having problems with the very large over grown silver birch tree located on the verge of 35a High Street, Ryton. We have lived at 35 High Street for 21 years and to our knowledge we have never seen it pruned or maintained. During August/ Sept we have to endure seedlings being blown into our open windows, which as you can imagine becomes quite a problem.
