Dangerous state of footways in Orchard Way
Reported anonymously at 17:41, Mon 10 August 2020
Sent to Rugby Borough Council and Warwickshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2239128.
The state of footways in Orchard Way, Stretton on Dunsmore is now quite appalling and even dangerous. BT manholes sit proud of the footway. The surface has broken up in several places leaving only loose base fill. Weeds are growing out of the broken surface. The footways represent a significant risk to the very elderly, and very young residents, and visitors to the cul de sac. At least two elderly people have already fallen. Please arrange a site survey to assess the problem and resurface the footway.

Today, my granddaughter tripped on the footway and grazed her knees and arms. She was very distressed and it spoiled our first day together in months apart and which we have looked forward as we isolated throughout the COVID pandemic. Highways are responsible for the repairs and maintenance of footways / pavements and I am now minded to take this to a higher authority. Please do something now and do not hide behind there being no resources since there have been road and footpaths resurfaced in various locations in Warwickshire but not in Stretton-on-Dunsmore
