Pathless verge blocked by roadworks bollards and vegetation
Reported in the Road works problem category anonymously at 09:23, Fri 24 July 2020
Sent to Warwickshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2214465.
Junction Houlton Rd - Hillmorton Lane, NE corner. Length of verge impassable around presumed roadworks. Dangerous in absence of footway. Road increasingly busy since easing of lockdown. Motorists get sight of walkers late due to hill. Have been walking from canal to footpath running north into Clifton for five months - no sign of any change except further blockage. Ultimately foot/cycleway is needed on this stretch of road (Houlton developers' funds might run to this?). Urgently barricades need moving, vegetation cut and surface levelled to allow walkers to move off road.

The roadworks barriers have been replaced by a slew in the road on the "down" side from Clifton. This has done nothing to improve safety for cyclists and walkers on the lane, who might legitimately expect that the link between footpaths south of Clifton and routes along the Oxford Canal or through Bluebell Wood would be made safe. On my cycle ride there this week I observed a motorist SPEED UP through this supposed calming measure on seeing the traffic light turn to amber-before-red. Please would WCC install a walking and cycling facility on this route.
