Cars blocking pavement

Reported in the Obstruction or hazard on road category anonymously at 22:22, Tuesday 21 July 2020

Sent to Warwickshire County Council less than a minute later

On the 4 occations I have walked past this point (by take away on bend) the pavement has had a car parked on the pavement, the first occasion I could pass with my child in his pushchair. On the second occasion 2 cars were here the first one I passed my pushchair brushed against the car and wall but the second car was totally blocking it forcing me unessasarly to go into the road on the blind bend. Could something be done to discourage this (extra signage/ posts/ fence)

  • I have passed your comments re signage to the Locality Officer but please note that Warwickshire County Council does not have the authority to deal with vehicles parked inappropriately at this location. For assistance with a vehicle which is causing an obstruction you would need to contact the Police who have powers to take appropriate action. The Police have the authority as the Highway Code states“You MUST NOT leave your vehicle or trailer in a dangerous position or where it causes any unnecessary obstruction of the road. [Laws CSDPA sect 21 & RTRA sects 5 & 8]” In such a case they may issue a Fixed Penalty Notice or arrange removal/relocation of the vehicle.
