Collapsed safety barrier A3400 Long Compton

Reported anonymously at 12:13, Tuesday 7 July 2020

Sent to Stratford-on-Avon District Council and Warwickshire County Council less than a minute later

This is part of the safety barrier that protects pedestrians from falling five foot into the stream. Almost all the current oak posts show signs of extensive rotting at the base, in October 2019 a section of the safety barrier collapsed into the stream when an elderly resident lent on it. Since then an inadequate partial plastic barrier has been erected. As many elderly residents use this path to access the shop and church etc. The village is very concerned an elderly resident may fall into the stream with fatal results, Please priorities this safety job, we all appreciates this is a difficult time but needs must. Many thanks Chris Burras Long Compton resident
