Overgrown hedge on pavement
Reported in the Hedges / trees on rights of way category anonymously at 15:48, Mon 6 July 2020
Sent to Warwickshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2188287.
The hedge grown on the property at the edge of Lime Avenue is well overgrown on the foot path, making it difficult to socially distance, near a roundabout which could result in a collision between vehicles and pedestrians. You wouldn't allow a resident to build a fence 1 metres beyond their boundary - why do you allow them to grow their hedge beyond their boundary making it very difficult for road users. This has been present since the middle of March.

Please could the house No.s 2,4 and No. 6. Leicester Lane, please cut the corners of their hedges back to the Boundary wall line. IT'S STILL IMPOSSIBLE TO SAFE DISTANCE BECAUSE I CAN'T SEE AROUND THE CORNER. Thanks

I have to agree with those pedestrians reporting a very high number of hedges and trees left to grow without control, covering up the public ground with thorny, suffocating bushes and branches. This June/July 2021, I have managed to give back to fruition the street nameplates on 1) Crowden Drive, 2) Cloister Crofts, 3) Lillington Road (the nameplate near Binswood Avenue, there are other nameplates on Lillington Road that are thankfully being managed), 4) the vegetation covering a tall road sign indicating the direction for Cubbington placed on Lillington Avenue, 5-6) Warren Close, its street nameplate together WITH the wooden bench installed next to it. It was impossible to sit on it. The list is only a sample of the more accessible jobs to me, with average garden tools. I carry out this work because I reckon that the street nameplates of Leamington Spa (old style and also the new ones) AND the road signs are among the best quality, for material and design, I have seen in my European life. The pavements are designed very cleverly, most being comfortably broad and allowing pedestrians to feel secure on them, IF maintained. These are the crucial points: The design is near perfection but the maintenance and the daily use of these features are left to the current users of Leamington Spa. It always hurts to see an attempt to undermine pure quality.
