Pavement slipping down into house renovation works

Reported anonymously at 21:05, Tuesday 23 June 2020

Sent to Warwickshire County Council less than a minute later

In Monmouth Close, off High Street Kenilworth, on the alley/footpath between Monmouth Close and Elmbank Road:

House on left by footpath has started extension, dug away soil adjacent to footpath to do footings, then COVID lockdown (and they have now applied for planning). In the meantime due to digging away next to footpath, the pavement has subsided and cracked, and there is a gap between safety barrier and pavement which someone could put their foot down in the dark. Some of the pavement has fallen away already (3 inches ?) and a new crack has now appeared 12 inches into the pavement tarmac as the structure is undermined due to removal of adacent soil. Issue has been there since mid April, but is getting worse.
