The tarmac which was piled onto the edges of the road on Sunday has covered the drainage holes in the sides of the kerbstones. These are used to drain rainwater from the gutters of the buildings. Additionally, large puddles are developing at the ends of the tarmac (outside Wetherspoons and outside the Town Hall) because the water cannot flow uphill!
