Overgrowing hedges narrowing pavement
Reported in the Hedges / Trees on road or verge category anonymously at 07:52, Tue 2 June 2020
Sent to Warwickshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2138458.
Along the A423 between Model Village and the grand union canal, on the opposite side of the road to the Long Itch Diner and the The Cuttle public house.
Hedge is growing over the pavements, especially over the railway bridge where the pavement is narrow and there is a fast growing creeper. Residents have cut some of it back, but it is a losing battle and needs a proper job doing. This is a 50mph road and if you are walking with a child on a scooter or bike they have to be right on the kerb, and the draught from lorries can cause them to wobble and fall. The detritus from previous years has fallen on the path causing it to narrow by a couple of feet in places. The whole stretch needs clearing and maintaining.

Issue partially fixed. The middle section is now better, but nothing has been done about the bit over the old railway bridge - presumably because this can't be done by one man with a ride on hedge/verge cutter. It's needs a viable long term solution
Other areas are already seeing the brambles grow back over he pavement - they grow quickly and just cutting back to the boundary of pavement and verge isn't good enough as it can easily grow back in a couple of days.
