Road Flooding AND culverts blocked
Reported in the Bridge or culvert defect category anonymously at 17:19, Wed 20 May 2020
Sent to Warwickshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2122946.
For years the road opposite my house floods dangerously and blocks a culvert that passes through my property, damaging my garden. A team from contractor CONWAY worked on the street drains today and advised that the blocked culvert needs to be cleared or the road water will continue to back up in the road - and further damage and erode my garden. They advised that the culvert will need to be jetted from the distal end - their equipment would not reach. I understand they will be submitting a report. I therefore request your appropriate action to rectify this VERY longstanding problem

Please note that this report came to Bridge Maintenance. We have established that the problem would be with a smaller culvert than we maintain, and your report has been passed on to County Highways (South) team for their action.

To update on above the flooding of Broad Lane outside our houses continues to get worse. Recent storms on 16th and 17th June resulted in flooding of drive ways and completely flooded our basement area and next doors garage and conservatory. 6000 litres of water was pumped from beneath our house the following day. When vehicles manage to pass through the road a bow wave is sent down drive waves causing more damage. Many cars do flood their engines when trying to pass. This is affecting properties and not just gardens. I have contacted Stratford council directly also. Could this problem please be addressed ASAP.
