Why are lights on along this road and off elsewhere when theres plenty of light coming from neighbouring businesses as well
At present Warwickshire County Council (WCC) operates a part night lighting policy that was agreed with elected members and came into effect in 2012.
This being said there are occasions when the street lights are temporarily switched on. This can be for extreme weather conditions such as heavy snowfall or high winds, when there is debris on the carriageway, also where there are temporary road works where the lighting has been assessed as being necessary all-night. Also when the Police are carrying out night-time operations in areas where part-night lights operate, the Police can and do liaise with WCC for the lights in a given area to be temporarily switched on all-night for an agreed period of usually around two weeks whilst they carry out their operations.
