Inappropriate Position of Speed Limit Signs

Reported via Android in the Road signs category by Kevin Marriott at 17:04, Wednesday 5 February 2020

Sent to Warwickshire County Council 1 minute later

The speed limit signs at the junction of Lower Street & West Coast Lane Hillmorton are inappropriately placed making the road unsafe for pedestrians. Referring to the attached image. On the approach from Lower Street the national speed limit is placed 100yds from a traffic calming chicane and a pedestrian crossing with drop kerbs (Marked 1 on attached map). At point 2 is an egress from a footpath and Green Space popular with both children and walkers. The road also passes immediately in front of 4 cottages at point 3. Traveling in the opposite direction the 30MPH limit doesn't start until the junction with Lowry Court. Surly it would be safer to continue the 30MPH limit all the way through from Lower Street to West Coast Lane given the high probability of interaction with pedestrians.
