Blocked road gulley and deep flood covering road
Reported in the Flooding or standing water on road category anonymously at 16:03, Thu 7 November 2019
Sent to Warwickshire County Council 7 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1836565.
Between Cubbington and Weston under Wetherley there is a blocked road gulley. When it rains this flood covers the whole road causing aquaplaning to vehicles and is a very serious accident waiting to happen. I imagine the road gulley is blocked due to HS2 construction mud etc that has been dragged into the road. Please can this be rectified ASAP to avoid a nasty accident. Thanks

Thank you for your recent enquiry. Signs have been put out until the water subsides. The gullies and associated pipework discharge into the ditches which are all full, causing the water to stand on the carriageway. This has also been forwarded to our flood alleviation team to see if any action can be taken.

It is now the 8th December and still this problem persists. The signage for the flood is not enough - in the short term there needs to be a further warning closer to Cubbington to warn people to slow down . By the time you reach the "Flood" sign it is too late to take any action. This problem needs to be dealt with urgently as otherwise someone is going to get killed in a head-on collision (you have to drive on the opposite side of the road to pass the flood). Please get this sorted without any further delay.

Responding to your comments and the above other complaint. Having worked in the drainage industry I’m fully aware you are able to instruct a contractor with a Jet Vaccuumation unit to come and remove all storm water and clean ditches. If you would like I can provide you with details for capable companies.
This is not something that should just be left and as stated by another person above the signs really aren’t adequate. It is a fatality waiting to happen and that needs to be avoided.
