Poorly fitting grate dislodged by passing bus. Reported to Police. Incident number 125 3.11.2019.

Reported in the Gully or manhole defect category by Roy Cruse at 12:13, Sun 3 November 2019

Sent to Warwickshire County Council 1 minute later

New crossing (not in use) on A425 at the main entrance of King’s High School. I was following a bus on Saturday 2.11.2019 at approx 14.40, which dislodged the drain grate. The grate bounced on the carriageway and damaged the hire vehicle I was returning to Castle Van Hire at Heathcote Industrial Estate. I returned on Sunday morning to take photos (including the ones above). I felt that the situation was extremely dangerous so informed the police. The grate was replaced but is so ill fitting that there would, inevitably, be a repeat. Sergeant Fuller (collar no. 1245) attended and agreed the situation was dangerous. He deployed cones as a warning.
