Traffic chaos and huge queues from 4-way lights

Reported in the Traffic lights category anonymously at 08:34, Monday 9 September 2019

Sent to Warwickshire County Council 1 minute later

Severn Trent have dug a hole in the pavement (Friday I believe) and just a few inches of barrier placed into road (probably not necessarily as cars could pass) with a 4 way traffic light control with the busy A426 and Northampton Lane & Bilton Grange Drive. Caused problems all weekend and chaos this morning with huge queues especially direction back to Sainsburys and Ashlawn Road. Who agrees to this? Did the hole have to be dug or left from Friday and were the lights really necessary? No consideration to traffic use. Same happened turn of year between Ashlawn Road with Barby Rd/Onley Lane - who controls Severn Trent and their contractors for causing unnecessary problems?

Updates

  • This problem has not been addressed. 8am this morning 10/09/19 cars backed up nearly to Hillmorton must be a mile and a half no one working at lights and no need for these lights at all. there does not appear to have been anyone working here at all for the last two days. The council should be held responsible for not monitoring this.
