The Road surface on the entire length of Southbank Road is very uneven, with dips, rutted iron works, and potholes and is in dire need of re-surfacing or surface dressing; as repeated gas/sewer and water works has badly damaged the surface.

Southbank Road is the main access road to the super-market, local shops, and the doctor's surgery. It is used by emergency services for access to Station Road.
