Overgrown unattended trees and bushes
Reported in the Hedges / Trees on road or verge category anonymously at 10:05, Tue 13 August 2019
Sent to Warwickshire County Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1730261.
The whole area for some reason does not appear to be on the Council/Contractors pruning schedule. The Sycamores which have self set are now at an height of close to 3 metres. Assuming a growth rate of 1 metre per year that makes it 3 years since even pruned. The rest of the growth in the bushes can also seen to be well over 8ft in places and is now spreading across the footpath. Amongst this growth are sharp bramble shoots at just the right height to catch passing children in the eye. A secondary result of the growth is that the carpark adjacent to the area cannot be now seen by passing cars resulting in a perfect place for 'County Line' dealers or clients to hide in plain site. Furthermore over the last 12 months 3 motor vehicles have been abandoned here effectively out of sight.

What a farce, You will see from the pictures that all that has been done is to cut the tops off the self set sycamore and run an hedge trimmer over the top of the shrubs that could be reached from the pavement. No attempt what so ever to address the growth that continues over the whole area and now completely hiding the blue van that is being used as an occasional dwelling. Furthermore although the larger pieces of trimming were raked up the smaller leaf cuttings rather than being collected were just blown out onto the road, to flow of in the rain into the gutters and drains.

A 'team' arrived and cut off the tops of the self set sycamore and cut the hedge back by a few centmetre and the left. So not yet cured.

A fairly basic prune by footpath carried out a month ago but nothing done to address the overall growth.

It would appear that it is another item that has fallen off the to do list.

Due to the time of year the area is now fairly dormant, so unless the matter is more fully dealt with and included onto the pruning schedule then this spring will see the area again becoming an even bigger eyesore.
