Hedges and shrubs overgrown and blocking footpath
Reported in the Hedges / Trees on road or verge category anonymously at 20:17, Sun 11 August 2019
Sent to Warwickshire County Council 3 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1728404.
Dogwood shrubs overgrown, partially and completely blocking footpath on Camborne Drive, near to junction with Newquay Close. You have to walk on grass verge to get past! Also pyracantha hedge overgrowing footpath on opposite side of Camborne Drive, between Newquay and Truro Close. Both hedges need cutting back off footpath as causing an obstruction.
Issue has been ongoing for last six months.
The hedges & shrubs have not been cut at all this year and should not be allowed to grow out of control like this, very poor maintenance by NBBC as usual.

Yes this hedge is dangerous, my son badly scratched his arm today as he went past on his bike. Have complained to the council, but I doubt if they will do anything. The maintenance of the hedges on the estate is appalling.

I chased it up again and have had an e-mail to say it is being done now (e-mail sent at 11.57) and that weather-permitting, all of Camborne Drive (both sides) will be done by the end of the week.

Yes, the hedges have been cut at last! They were done yesterday, 2nd October. However, the contractors used a large tractor to carry out the work, which has resulted in severe damage to the grass verges on both sides of Camborne Drive, there are deep tyre tracks and mud filled ruts everywhere, so that needs fixing now! Fancy driving a large tractor on grass after all of the rain in the last few days, unbelievable!!

Having cut the hedges back and creating ruts in all the grass verges the tractor travelled on At the bottom of Cambourne Drive by the footpath to the shops all the cuttings have been dumped on the verge Do the contractors have suitable and sufficient supervision- does NBCC undertake quality checks ? On this evidence clearly not
