Not a new problem and I'm sure it has been reported before but it is getting worse. Typically, it can be assumed that the people responsible for parking cars at this location are Hospital employees. The specific area of concern is Woodloes Avenue South between Malham Road and Smythe Grove junctions - and it is getting worse. The area of my concern is on a bend and cars are often parked hard up against junctions. I seem to recall when I was being taught to drive that both of these factors were in contravention of the Highway Code. Apart from the nuisance of a residential road being used by people going to work, it is becoming increasingly dangerous - as the number of cars parking seems to be increasing (cars usually only went as far as Kilnsey Grove junction but are now up to Smythe Grove junction. Visibility coming out of the junctions is being compromised, the risk of clipping passing cars is increased due to parked cars narrowing the road width and the potential for pedestrians crossing between parked cars and being hit is very real. As a resident of Smythe Grove for some 16 years and observer of a worsening problem, I am astounded that this problem is not being addressed, positive in the knowledge that I cannot be the only person to complain. Is it going to take a fatality before something is done? That's what I think will HAVE to happen before action is taken. I submit this 'Problem' with a feeling of dread and sad resignation that it will be ignored, referred back to an earlier complaint or as I suspect - just not dealt with until some poor s*d loses their life.
