Inadequate and unsafe provision for access for local residents

I reported this problem on monday 24 Jun around 12 30pm. I was trying to access and exit from the cricket club/bridge club . I was required to make a 90 degree turn off and onto the highway . The highway is significantly higher than the access drive to the cricket club/bridge club. This means that visibility is very poor on exiting especially due to the metre high rigid plastic fencing in place to protect the road works. I spoke to Penny who said she would immediately pass this info on to Zareen the Network Management Coordinator. Zareen phoned me back today 26 June and was most unhelpful advising me that the works had "been inspected "last week and deemed ok. I explained that the works were moving along the highway and on monday they were not safe...when I exited I could only do so with the aid of a workman and I was required to mount the kerb on the side of the road to effect the 90 degree turn required. Whilst I fully understand that the works are necessary and inevitably they will cause disruption ...in this case totally inadequate provision was allowed for access and it was unsafe there were no sight lines acknowledged. I understand that someone has had an accident trying to leave the site. Zareen was most unhelpful merely suggesting that I contact the company carrying out the work. This is not acceptable WCC are responsible for highway safety and should be monitoring works continually especially if they are alerted that a problem is occurring. Apparently Zareen was "in a meeting" so was unable to take any action. I have struggled this evening to exit onto the high way again . Some 30 cars were queued back trying to exit as it appeared that the lights were not working at all . I would be grateful if someone would take the contractors to task about this .
