Water running across road
Reported in the Flooding or standing water on road category anonymously at 11:45, Sun 23 June 2019
Sent to Warwickshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 1670967.
There has been water running off the lay-by and across the road for a month or so now, whether it's raining or not. It's on a corner so could be dangerous. When it rains the grate downhill from the lay-by overflows.

This will be really dangerous come the first frosts! I have already contacted Severn Trent and it is not their responsibility. Might Ragley Estates be responsible?

Nothing has been done about this as of 16 September. The volume of water on the road has increased recently.

Temporary "slippery road" warning signs have been put up so at least we know the council are aware of this problem now.

I asked Ragley Hall about this thinking it might be a land drainage issue and that evening the Slippery Signs appeared. It isn’t a Severn Trent issue as I contacted them as well. So please Highways - This is becoming increasingly dangerous as we head in to Autumn and them into icy conditions - I cannot believe no one has been out to clear the drain - such a simple solution to this problem.

Shockingly there is still no sign of an attempt to clear this situation which will become increasingly hazardous as we go into the Autumn/winter season. Wet leaves on a wet road surface and then surface water that will freeze - come on Highways send someone to investigate!!!

The ‘Slippery Surface’ signs are still in place thank goodness. The road is still as wet as ever on dry days so the problem is not going to go away until SOMEONE??’ at least comes and has a look and poke around in all the horrible muddy/leaf mold oozing in the lay-by. Please somebody. My third posting and crossed fingers beginning to ache 🤞!!

Saw the teams arrive on Monday and pleased to say the lay-by/culvert cleared of rotting leaves/dirt so consequently no water flowing across the carriageway. Thank you to the Highways team!
