Massive Inconvenience - No Work

Reported in the Road works problem category anonymously at 09:40, Fri 21 June 2019

Sent to Warwickshire County Council 5 minutes later

Is a road closure that takes a few cars on a short diversion more acceptable than 5-days of a ridiculous 4-way traffic control system? The traffic management system has been done to suit the contractor NOT the general population. Highways need to step in TODAY and ensure this is all cleared. The contractors work could have been done in 1-day if organised urgently. Or they could have organised a road closure [safer!] for the top of Lime Ave for a couple of days max. I understand a road closure takes more effort to organise - but a 4-way Traffic Light is easy. So whoever approved this scheme needs to be held accountable. From my Bike [I also have a car] I observed 40 cars sat idling [at 8.40am] on both side of the works on Cubbington road. No contractors in the works And essentially the works are complete. Someone is having a laugh at the expense of the publics time and health. Please explain. Or even better, go take a visit and get these works removed today.

  • The system put in place also had the effect of running cars in the wrong direction. But there were no warnings for pedestrians crossing to the middle island from Tesco that they had to look the wrong way for traffic. This could have easily caught someone out.
