Travelling home this evening along the Fosse Way just after 6pm, arriving at the roundabout between wellesbourne and Kineton, I was met with road closure signs, no access etc, with no diversion signs, I then went round the roundabout and towards Wellesbourne, to take the B4087 towards Bishops Tachbrook instead> This road was closed aswell. I drove up this road to the re-surfacing works that were taking place and spoke to a contractor who informed me that the road was closed and to follow the diversion signs around the A429, which was only a few minutes longer! I said to him there were no diversion signs, he said they were back at the T junction, at which point I asked him why both the Fosse and the B4087 were being re-surfaced on the same day? At which point he walked off and ignored me. I went back towards the T junction in the centre of Wellesbourne, saw a diversion sign pointing me back up towards the closed off Fosse way! Fortunately, knowing the area I took the road through to Moreton paddox (no further diversion sign telling me to do so) to re-join the Fosse Way, only to find the re-surfacing works were the last 200 metres of the Fosse where the B4455 meets the B4100. Please can I ask why WCC chose to close two roads in close proximity to each other on the same day when for the other 364 days of the year they are open? Why there were no more diversion signs and Why was a road closed more than 2 miles before the actual reason for the closure? And finally you can't move the green thing on your map! Come on guys get a grip!!
