Road work - traffic light control causing extensive delays!

Reported in the Road works problem category anonymously at 18:47, Mon 13 May 2019

Sent to Warwickshire County Council 2 minutes later

The road works on the Warwick Road near to St Gregory's Road / Welcombe Rd have caused extensive delays today, especially at rush hour. At 7.35 this morning it took me 20 mins to get from the top of Bridge Street on to the gyratory by Bridgeway car park. Most of this time was spent queueing down Bridge Street. i was lucky later this queue went to the top of Wood Street and down High Street. Not to mention Guild St / Birmingham Road and over the river where traffic can not come down the Shipston Rd. These traffic lights are 4 way with about 1 min each for traffic going up the Warwick Rd and then 2 X 30 seconds for traffic from St Gregory's Rd and Welcombe Rd ( sometimes there is no traffic coming out of this junction). Traffic lights are before Welcombe Rd on the St Gregory's Rd which means that when these go green cars shoot out expecting priority over Welcombe Rd traffic. I saw several near misses here. These two traffic lights seem wrongly placed. Please aid commuters and reduce this chaos before someone gets hurt.
