Diversion in place is dangerous, contributing to accidents

Sent to Warwickshire County Council 5 minutes later
Since Main Road closed on 7 Jan, significant increase in accidents and near misses. A dog has been run over and killed and an rta on the corner of Tailors Lane and Camden Road. Traffic is being diverted from Main Road to either Back Lane - single track , pot holes, no passing places, unsuitable for regular journeys, and Tailors Lane - no proper verges, no road markings, no streetlights, unsuitable for volume of traffic, not suitable for buses and cars and dangerous for pedestrians. Together with the construction traffic, Goose Lane is now very dangerous. The school bus routes have been compromised, with children waiting at random points on the diversion, rather than safe stops. I urge WCC to step in and reconsider current road works and diversion before a more serious accident occurs.

Whilst the WCC did make efforts to address traffic laming and impose speed limits in response to complaints, Tailors Lane was was severely damaged by increase in traffic. The verges were destroyed, leading to some cars suffering punctures from coming off the carriageway into steep ruts to allow others to pass. WCC are now having to closed the road again to repair the damage they should have managed as part of the original diversion. I hope these works are completed to a suitable standard, given the quantity of traffic that uses it.
