Yellow lines need extending

Reported in the Road markings category anonymously at 18:36, Sun 8 July 2018

Sent to Warwickshire County Council 4 minutes later

Bell Lane in Studley has double yellow lines down both sides apart from a short length to accommodate two cars to the rear of Davis' shop. When these lines were put in this was to accommodate parking for customers as there was a rear entrance to Davis. For a few years there has been no rear entrance for customers but two cars are frequently parked there. We use this road daily and the obstruction of these two parked cars can sometimes cause problems with the smooth running of the traffic, especially as Tesco lorries and their suppliers use Bell Lane to access Tesco Express off Castle Road. When Warners Hotel opens for business there will be an increase of traffic on this stretch of road. Would it be possible to have these two spaces removed and the no parking lines drawn in? There is a large car park only 20 yards away off Bell Lane to the rear of the shops. I hope you will consider that this makes sense and would only cause a minor inconvenience to the two people who park there all day!

  • I received a first class response the following day, very pleased and impressed: "Thank you for getting in contact with ourselves with regards to the small section of missing Double Yellow Lines in Bell Lane Studley. You'll be happy to know that we are currently in the process of addressing this issue, we are proposing to extend and join the Double Yellow Lines along this section of carriageway which in-turn will remove the small area of parking which is causing the issue."
