Faulty Traffic lights
Reported in the Traffic lights category anonymously at 13:33, Mon 16 April 2018
Sent to Warwickshire County Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1283774.
Faulty Traffic lights are not allowing time for vehicles turning right on to mill road from boughton road at the junction there is not enough delay to turn right before the other lights go green again sometimes the right arrow does not light at all after failing to acknowledge vehicles turning right and goes straight to red which could cause an accident as vehicles are caught out sitting across the pedestrian crossing in the box to turn right ?There was a bad RTA at this junction on friday 13th april police on scene.

The right turn indicative green arrow will only operate if called by a vehicle presence in excess of three seconds. If the vehicle moves from the detection zone the demand will cancel after three seconds. The detector is sited 3m from the pedestrian studs and has been positioned to pick up the second vehicle turning right. It is intended that the first vehicle will turn in gaps or at the end of the full green period. Please contact us directly if further information is required.

Not everyone knows the correct place to stop in the box due to worn out road markings and the detector does not detect small vehicles and motorcycles very well at all maybe there needs to be a big white X in the road so some know where to wait properly!

I have requested that the worn out road markings be reinstated by our Highway maintenance team. We will check the sensitivity of the detection.
