New LED Streetlights not such a bright idea

New LED street lights have been installed in Regent Street of the type that are only on for part of the night. When they go out the street is in total darkness. It's a busy road and cars race up and down it most of the day and night. As there is no off road parking there have been several minor accidents to date. Fortunately no-one has been injured...yet. Also, there are traffic calming measures in the street. Your own policy on these new lights states that they will not be erected in streets having traffic calming. Perhaps you should have read that before you put them up? While I'm on the subject of traffic calming, where is the sense in having a give way chicane at each end of the street? Drivers who obviously don't understand the Highway Code don't know who has the right of way - so nobody bothers to give way to anyone. Only a matter of time before there's a serious RTA.
