Bad or non existant markings delineating the separate lanes for pedestrians and cyclists on combined footways

Reported anonymously at 09:42, Thu 22 October 2020

The current maintenance of the pedestrian / cycleway markings on combined footpaths around Rugby is dreadful. Leaves are covering the markings that delineate the pedestrian and cycleway sides. If you walk the length of the Bilton Road, you will find markings that have faded beyond recognition. Also, overhanging branches from gardens and waste areas are forcing pedestrians (above 5 foot 9 inches in height) into the path of cyclists. Too many cyclists carry on riding on tight footpaths, after ignoring or not seeing the signage that directs cyclists to return to the road. The worst case being on the Rugby Town end corner of the Bilton Road, leading onto the Gyratory. This gets very narrow because of the railings and I have often been confronted by cyclists who have ignored the signs and ride on the pavement.
