Degradation of verges caused by construction traffic to village building sites. The road is covered in mud/debris.

Reported anonymously at 11:09, Wed 13 November 2019

Over the last 12 months and particularly over the last two the road surface and verges on Norton Hill in the village of Austrey has deteriorated to such an extent that this is now dangerous. Lorries/construction traffic is constantly using this lane to service the building developments going on in the village. The verges are extremely cut up with mud and debris constantly across the road. The developers need to be made accountable for both keeping the road clean and making good the damage done to both the verges and the road surface both during the construction phase and also post construction whereby the road will require the verges to be remade. Daily cleaning is required to the surface with remedial works completed to the verges. I am also additionally concerned that this is currently left in a dangerous state with high levels of mud and debris across the carriageway. This danger will only be exacerbated as weather conditions deteriorate and freezing conditions start.
