Diversion Concerns

Reported anonymously at 21:46, Fri 11 January 2019

I wish to voice my concern over the unacceptable diversion routes which have been put in place due to the roadworks on Main Road, Lower Quinton which are expected to last 35 days! We have already had a dog knocked over and killed at the Tailors Lane junction and this afternoon there has been a road traffic accident involving a motorcycle. Visibility of oncoming traffic at this junction is not good and bearing in mind the speed of the traffic along the Campden Road, it is only a matter of time before more accidents will happen here. Both Tailors Lane and Back Lane are unsuitable for the volume of traffic now being imposed on them. They are mainly single track roads which drop significantly at the sides making them dangerous. We in the village are happy that the footpaths are being improved but surely this could have been done by just closing one carriageway and utilising traffic lights.
