Recent roadworks (beyond the current one) have not been fllled level with the road surface, leaving a uncomplete trench 0.5 to 1 inch below the main road surface, for a longitudinal run approx 20 meters long on southbound side. It is dangerous to cyclists, you have a choice of riding either in a narrow muddy verge to the left or in it and in addition also having to avoid raised ironworks in the middle and then a ramp at the end to exit. It also forces you to choose between riding out in the trench or in the narrow slippy verge on the left, neither of which are safe to a cyclist

This trench has been here since works on the road about 2 months ago, in conjunction with the new housing build at Burrow Hill. I asked the contractor "Anacon" who were on site, about it but they would not respond to my query. I cycle daily (commuting at night) along here and as an experienced cyclist I feel very vulnerable on this stretch of road at present
