Dangerous exit To whom it may concern I have tried Highways and Byeways a they informed me to contact the local council. I am writing to you with concerns about the lack of traffic control while road works are being carried out on the Longshoot road Nuneaton Warwickshire. Recently the 24hr lights have been restricted to be in-use between 9.30am - 3.30pm I would like to point out that the Longshoot is at the best of times a dangerous road as the traffic is fast and heavy especially between 8am - 9.30am and 3.30 pm to 6.30pm. Now the traffic lights have been removed it is extremely dangerous for residence living on the Belway Royal Park development to turn out of Greendale Road. This is our only entrance and exit into the estate, the removal of the tragic lights is putting us at risk of an accident along with putting many of the pedestrians at risk too as they have no pathway due to the road works and have to dice with death to cross the road as we do in our cars every day on that road once the traffic lights have been removed. With the full time trafficlights on it made it safer, the barriers around the road works completely stop the view up the road which means we have to pull out half way into a very busy road to be able to see oncoming traffic. The speed the cars comimg down the road puts us at risk of a serious accident. Additionally, as the lights are turned of at midnight you cannot see the entrance into the Belway development which is another safety concern. There should be lights on the cones however, there are non. The residents of the estate are very concerned and something needs to be done before there is a fatality. I have spoken to the management doing the construction work and he agrees fully that it is dangerous, it seems Highways are not taking the concerns seriously.
