Gully full of thick black oil, causing oil pollution into the Sow Brook at NGR SP 48583 75527.

Reported anonymously at 11:21, Wed 28 February 2018

As a result to two reports on 27 February (first noticed on 27 February at 10:49) to the Environment Agency of oil pollution in the Sow Brook by CEMEX Rugby Plant, an Environment Officer investigated and found an oil discharge into the Sow Brook from what is now established as a Warwickshire Highways outfall at NGR SP 48583 75527. A Severn Trent Water (STW) crew (who attended the location on 27 February, at the request of the EA) found the gully full of thick black oil, and this was discharging into the Sow Brook from the outfall, which STW confirmed was not their asset, but was a Warwickshire Highways asset. Please can Warwickshire Highways clean up the thick black oil in the gully and investigate the source of the oil pollution. Thanks. Environment Agency Land & Water.
