Pedestrian crossing beep way too loud

Reported anonymously at 09:13, Fri 23 February 2018

The pedestrian crossing on Spencer Street near the T-junction with the Parade and Bath Street beeps very loudly. It is a constant noise disturbance which undermines the living standards of residents living in the flats close by to it. It goes off continuously during the day, including in the early morning and late at night, and should be reviewed urgently. Having spoken to the other residents of Spencer Street, we found that the noise pollution affects our mental and physical health, eg. sleep disruption, trigger of stress-related habits. We would greatly appreciate the employment of the silent pedestrian signals as seen on the pedestrian crossings of Warwick Street and Regent Street near the Parade.
